3 Days 2 Nights Mekong Tour: Cai Be, ​Chau Doc & Can Tho

For this 3 days and 2 nights tour, we will visit Cai Be, Chau Doc and Can Tho in Mekong Delta. The cost of this private tour includes a comfortable air-conditioned car or van, bottled drinking water, entrance fees, boat rides, and tasting of local fruits. Drinks, meals, and personal expenses are not included in the tour price.

DAY 1

The driver and I will pick you from your location in Ho Chi Minh City. The drive to Cai Be takes about 2 hours from Ho Chi Minh City.
We will basically do the following activities in Cai Be:

  1. Visit a small floating market.
  2. Take a cruise along the river.
  3. Learn to make rice paper and pop rice.
  4. A sampan ride along a canal.
  5. Venture around Tan Phong Island to see tropical fruits and have an opportunity to mingle with the local people.
  6. Lunch at a local farmer’s house.

In the afternoon, we will proceed to Chau Doc, a few hours drive away. Chau Doc is located at the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. It is known as the “Kingdom of Cat Fish”! We will stay a night in Chau Doc with a dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 2

We will basically do the following activities in Chau Doc:

  1. Enjoy a cup of coffee on top of Sam Mount with the picturesque view of the immense rice paddies.
  2. Take the trishaw ride along the border of Vietnam and Cambodia.
  3. Visit Tra Su forest where will enjoy the fresh air and bird-watching from a sampan.

In the afternoon, we visit the City of Can Tho in Mekong Delta. Upon reaching Can Tho, a home of 1.4 million people and the capital city of Mekong Delta, we will check-in into a hotel and then visit Ninh Kieu Quay to enjoy the beautiful view of the Mekong River. We will end our day with a dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 3

We will basically do the following activities in Can Tho:

  1. Take a boat ride to see the local life of the people.
  2. Experience the biggest floating market in Vietnam; we will see the trading of fruits and enjoy some food like pho, banh mi, and pineapples.
  3. Explore the lovely countryside by boat.

On the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, which is about three and a half hours drive.
